4.4 SECOND STAGE
4.4.1 Second stage finalists
The jury shall select a maximum of five (5) entries as finalists for the second stage. The jury may nominate one (1) or more alternative finalists, should any of the initially selected finalists be disqualified.
4.4.2 Second stage instructions
Further instructions for submissions for the second stage, together with any additional information deemed necessary, will be issued at the appropriate time. The following information is provided to give competitors an idea of the anticipated scope of the second stage submission. While these requirements are unlikely to change materially, the Promoter reserves the right to make changes to the requirements listed below.
4.4.3 Drawings, sketches, photographs and models
The second stage competition entries shall use only the English language and finalists shall develop the concepts presented in the first stage of the competition by producing a sufficient number of drawings, not exceeding A1 (840mmx594mm) in size, to adequately illustrate the requirements listed below:

A site plan and section showing the full extent of the site, all vehicular services and pedestrian routes and illustrating the proposals for the design and landscaping of the site as a whole; |

Perspectives, axonometric or isometric drawings, photographs of models showing the site design, all the buildings on the site and the building's relationship to its surroundings; |

III. |
Full design concepts (sketch) plans showing all levels and sections to a scale of not smaller than 1:200; |

IV. |
Two interiors showing major internal spaces of any building of a competitor's choice; |
| |
V. |
A minimum of two and a maximum of four design sections to a scale of 1:50 showing the architectural character of the building(s); |
| |
VI. |
A physical model (the competitor may use any scale that will best express his/her design); |
| |
VII. |
A 2-minute computer generated 3D walk-through (optional); |
| |
VIII. |
A schedule of spaces and areas; |
| |
IX. |
2 Compact disks (CD/DVD) containing all the presentations in PDF format; |
| |
X. |
All drawings shall be mounted on flat, white cardboard which may exceed the specified A1 size by no more than 10mm all around. Rolls of drawings are not accepted; |

XI. |
Identification of the documentation will be identical to the first stage. |
There is no restriction on the use of media in the second stage. The requirements relating to metric scales, orientation points and the indication of functions referred to under clause 2.3.2 shall apply to second stage submissions.
4.4.4 The report
Competitors for the second stage shall submit three copies of a report, not exceeding 5,000 words in length, in Arial font and size 11 pts.
The report should cover inter alia:

General concept of the architectural design; |

Simple description of operational and spatial relations inside the building; |

Brief technical description of the structural design and materials used; |

Table calculation of areas and volumes covering all floors as well as the building as a whole; |
| |
VII. |
A cost estimate and a life cycle costing by a qualified quantity surveyor. |
The report should contain a minimum of one and a maximum of two annotated concept diagrams, illuminating key aspects of the design. The report should be also stored on two (2) CD/DVD carriers together with the plans. All shall be included, together with the plans, in a solid and opaque sealed package.
4.4.5 Identification envelope
The envelope with the inscription “Identification” shall contain names, addresses and signatures of authors and co-authors and two (2) CD carriers with plans in .pdf format (A3 format) and a manual in .doc or .xls (in case of tables) formats. It shall be placed together with the plans in a solid package sealed and completely opaque. The author's name shall be identical with the author's name given in the first stage. The identification code (the same as in first stage) comprising of seven (7) digit code made up of letters and/or numbers, 10mm high, will be on the front side of the envelope. It shall also be placed together with the plans in a solid package sealed
and completely opaque.
